NOVA of California has been designing and manufacturing modern lighting and décor since 1923. We are a California company and every design we develop is imagined through our California modern lens. Over the past 96 years, we have created our look and sold our designs primarily through the top independent contemporary furniture stores until someone moved our cheese.
For so many years, we sold most of our designs to stores and they displayed and shared our story as they saw fit. Those stores offered a limited selection of our product range and it was not easy for interior designers, specifiers, or consumers to experience our entire line as we envisioned it. The best of the independent stores that innovate and offer added value in terms of trend-smart merchandising and in-home design are doing well. Many of the independent contemporary retail stores that failed to change have disappeared and this opened an opportunity for us to talk directly to designers, specifiers, procurement professionals, and consumers who design with and live with our designs every day.
We have been loyal providers of innovative designs to the best contemporary stores in the U.S. and Canada for 96 years and we were reluctant to reach out directly to others because of those loyalties.
In December 2019, we launched our re-branded NOVA of California website to tell our story and create a dialog with our community of like-minded, design-conscious people who love California’s modern design and the work we do.
We desire to share with you why we create the original contemporary designs that we make and how they are reflective of the California modern lifestyle that we love.
